A Getaway…

…and a Basket.

Hubster and I were very lucky to receive an invite to the beach last weekend to stay in a friend’s beach house. Given it was Memorial Day weekend, the traffic was quite manageable at the times we chose to drive.

I forgot to take a photo of the house…this is from Google and doesn’t do the house justice.

Wonderful front porch to sit, people watch, and read….It was just the two of us, but the house has four bedrooms, fireplace and wonderful details like moldings not available in new construction.

The weather was spectacular and we walked about 10 miles over the weekend.

The blue sky was available for viewing all weekend.

One of my favorite houses in Ocean City…ROMARLETTA

There is a book written about this house ¬†and Old Ocean City based on photos and journals of the original owner’s son.

I would like to report that I lost many pounds walking all that time, but unfortunately because we enjoyed some local delicacies my hips and thighs still enjoy the title, “PLUMP”.

This popcorn is quite addicting.

Homemade Donuts…fresh and hot

A beverage and some seafood at Blu

We sat outside along the canal.

Just us enjoying some outdoor dining…

I know what you’re thinking…why aren’t these two celebrities?

Relaxing on the beach was the best.

Parting last Monday was bittersweet….but I came home to my hanging flower baskets which have never looked better…AMD, Pinterest and Instagram “worthy”.

Another weekend is upon me…somehow this past week at school flew by and testing for the 2014-2015 school year is complete…(Mini-1812 Overture playing in head).

Have a wonderful weekend.

Looks like you had a wonderful time and great weather. How I miss going “downey ocean.” You hit all of my favorite spots. Is Thrashers Fries still around? How about the soft service ice cream trucks that use to go up and down every street? Will try to get back to OC when I visit MD this summer.

I can’t believe I forgot Thrashers because we did indeed share a small order…No more soft ice cream trucks, I do remember those trucks when I lived in OC for two summers during college. Hope you get a chance to visit. Thanks for stopping by.
